Picking the fleece
Weight is the decision that changes how the finished piece feels. Midweight fleece around 8 ounces is the everyday choice and the cheapest per piece, fine for team orders and giveaways. Heavyweight at 10 ounces and up has real substance in the hand and is what you want if the sweatshirt is being sold rather than handed out. Cotton rich blends feel softer and take a print beautifully, while poly heavy fleece resists pilling longer and holds color through repeated washing. Both print the same way, so this is a comfort and price decision rather than a technical one.
Printing and placement
Fleece is thicker and looser than jersey, so it takes different press settings than a t-shirt, and we adjust for that. The print goes on flexible and moves with the fabric instead of cracking as a stiff panel. Light or thin designs on dark heather fleece can look washed out, since the fabric texture shows through the ink, so send us the garment color with the design and we will tell you if it needs a heavier underbase. Full front and full back have the most room and read from a distance, left chest suits staff and team use, and sleeve prints work for a small mark or a year. Each additional print location adds cost, but none of them adds a setup fee.
