What makes it different from a tee
The sleeve is cut in one piece running diagonally from the collar to the underarm, rather than being set into a shoulder seam. That raglan construction gives the shirt more shoulder movement, which is why it started in baseball and stayed there. The contrast sleeve is what makes it read as sportswear before anything is printed on it. A raglan is a two color garment out of the box, so a plain one color design looks finished on it in a way it would not on a blank white tee.
Printing notes and sizing
Avoid the diagonal seam, since it runs where a shoulder print would go, and keep the chest design centered and within about eleven inches on adult sizes. Sleeve prints need contrast: black ink on a black sleeve does nothing, so check the combination before you commit. Bella + Canvas raglans run slim and slightly short in the body, more so than their standard tee, so size up one for a team where fit matters.
