Choosing a fleece for what you are doing
Heavy blend is denser, holds its shape, and takes embroidery without puckering. It is the better value on a large team order. Sponge fleece is softer and drapes, which is what people expect from a retail sweatshirt. It costs more and it sells for more. For DTF printing, either works, but press with firm pressure and give it a second press after peeling, because fleece has more loft than a tee and the first press seats unevenly if you rush it. For embroidery, heavier fleece is more forgiving, and a lightweight sweatshirt wants a cutaway backing.
