Printing on performance fabric
Polyester behaves differently from cotton under a press, and it is worth knowing why before you ruin a dozen shirts. Dye migration is the main risk: heat can pull dye out of a colored polyester garment and up into a light print, turning white into pink on a red shirt. Press at the lowest temperature that will bond, use a longer dwell rather than a hotter one, and let the garment cool before handling. DTF handles polyester well, better than most alternatives, and the print stays flexible enough to move with a stretch fabric. Sublimation only works on light polyester, since the ink is transparent and cannot show on a dark garment. Embroidery on performance knit needs a backing or it will pucker and the holes will not close.

Will a print crack on stretch fabric?
Not with DTF, which stays flexible. Vinyl on a high stretch garment is what usually cracks.
What is dye migration and should I worry?
Heat pulling garment dye into the print, mostly on red, maroon and royal polyester. We use blockers and lower press temperatures on those colors. If you are pressing yourself, test one first.
Can you add numbers and names?
Yes, with no per name setup fee. Send the roster with spellings and numbers checked.
