Instead it moves sweat along the fibers to the surface where it evaporates, which is why a performance shirt feels dry after twenty minutes in the sun while a cotton tee is still wet an hour later. Printing on polyester
It behaves differently from cotton, and it is worth knowing why before a run gets ruined. Dye migration is the main risk: heat can pull dye out of a colored polyester garment up into a light print, so white turns pink on a red shirt over the following days. We press at the lowest bonding temperature with a longer dwell and use blockers on the colors that need them. Red, maroon and royal are the problem colors; black, navy, white and grey are safe. DTF flexes with the fabric, so the print does not crack on a stretch performance knit the way vinyl does. Embroidery needs a cutaway backing on performance knit or it puckers.
