A PNG needs a transparent background at 300 DPI at the size you want printed, roughly 3600 pixels across for a twelve inch chest print. Do not send a logo pulled off a website, screen resolution is a quarter of print resolution and it shows on fabric. Tell us the garment color, since light ink behaves differently on dark fabric than it does on a monitor, and double check spelling on names, dates and rosters. Not sure about a file? Send it anyway, we check it at print size before you pay.
Screen printing charges per color and per screen, which is why a shop quotes a minimum of twenty four. Direct to film has no screens, so a ten color photograph costs the same as a one color wordmark, and a run of five costs proportionally what a run of fifty costs. Above roughly two hundred pieces on a simple one or two color design, screen printing starts winning again, and we will tell you when that is the case rather than take the order.
