Custom Patches

Patches are what you use when a logo needs to look substantial. On a cap, a jacket or a bag, a patch reads as a real product in a way that a printed graphic does not, and it is the reason patch hats have taken over the promotional market over the last few years.

What we make

• Leather and faux leather patches, laser engraved. The engraving burns the mark into the surface, so there is nothing to peel off.
• PVC patches, molded rubber with raised detail, in full color. Waterproof and effectively indestructible, which is why outdoor brands and tactical suppliers use them.
• Woven and embroidered patches for a traditional look.
• Custom shapes, including rectangle, oval, shield, circle and cut to your outline.

Choosing a material

• Leather for a premium, understated look. One color only, since engraving is a burn rather than an ink. Natural variation between hides is part of the appeal.
• Faux leather for consistency and a lower price, with a wider color range and no hide variation.
• PVC when you need full color, fine raised detail or genuine weather resistance.
• Woven for detailed multicolor artwork at a lower unit cost on larger runs.

Application

We can apply the patch to a cap, jacket or bag before shipping, or send the patches loose for you to apply or sew. On caps we press them, which is faster and cleaner than stitching and holds through normal wear. Buy the blanks from our blank caps collection and we can quote the cap and the patch as one price.

Artwork

Send a vector file if you have one. Patches have a hard limit on fine detail, especially in leather, so very thin lines and small text will not survive the engraving. We will tell you what needs simplifying before anything is cut, not after.

What is the minimum order?

Low, but patches have a setup step, so per unit pricing improves noticeably with quantity. Ask for a quote at your quantity.

Can leather patches be full color?

No. Engraving is a single tone burn. Use PVC or woven for full color.

Can you apply patches to hats I already own?

Usually. Send us a sample first so we can check the crown and the fabric.

Will a pressed patch come off a cap?

Not under normal wear. For heavy use or industrial laundering we recommend stitching.

How small can text be?

Around a quarter inch tall on leather. PVC holds slightly finer detail.

Are PVC patches waterproof?

Yes, completely.

How long does production take?

Usually one to two weeks depending on material and quantity, plus artwork approval.

Can I reorder later and have it match?

Yes. We keep the cut and mold files on your order.
